Location: Zoom
Topic discussed: Religion
Today during mine and Halimah's conversation meeting was about the differences in our religion (Christianity & Islam) and other religions around the world. What started our conversation on religion is that last night we discussed Thanksgiving and how her family does not celebrate it. One similarity within our relgious is that they are the two most common religions. They also both have orgins from the Middle East, and I told her my interest in traveling to Jerusalem one day. One of the huge differnces that we noticed was that Christianity has three images of god, - the father, the son, and the holy spirit whereas Islamic has one image of god. The Islamic religion does not believe that Jesus died on the cross, but in Christianity that is one of the main beliefs. We also disccused topics regarding abortion and gay marriage. We both understand that gay marriage is not accepted in our religions but both agree that it should be legal for people to chose and that we should not judge and to be accepting which we both are. One super cool thing from our conversation was the "red string", or "Kabbalah". Here is the link -
