Kathryn Brockett TS #10 (Hour two)

The book is beginning to discuss the more significant events of the author's life, and details are increasing. Having read the section ahead of time helped me to be of better assistance to Hang Ah, even though she does not struggle very much with comprehension. The section we read touched on her mother's experience after the car crash and focused on her brother's response to it. After the accident she became closer with her brother, he shared music with her which was special to him. She tries to see the world through her brothers eyes, because he sees beyond their small life. He decides to rebel against his parents and go away for college, leaving Tara confused and frustrated. We took turns reading aloud as usual, and she has increasingly become more confident reading out loud, taking initiative and continuing on her own without asking me to step in.
