(Present simple & Present Continuous) Of course, the lessons always begin with an agenda. I began first with the present simple. Sometimes videos do a really good job explaining so I played a seven-minute video first. We covered affirmative, negative, and interrogative. I have never taught or coordinated a lesson on grammar before so I didn’t know how challenging it could be when the student asks certain questions. My examples for the present simple – Affirmative – They have a car. Negative – They don’t have a car. Interrogative – Do you have a car? We went back and forth taking turns on examples, so she got the hang of it. After she began understanding, the main activity was presented.
